Default AX Chassis Setup

I’m looking for some recommendations for setting up my 993 C2 coupe for autocrossing.
I’m currently running with PSS9s set at 3 for both front and rear.
TRG front 25mm sway bar, set in the middle.
TRG rear 22mm sway bar, set in the middle.
Kumho V700 Victoracer 225/45/17 front. 35 psi hot
Kumho V700 Victoracer 275/40/17 rear. 39 psi hot
Front camber 2.0 neg, Rear camber 1.5 neg

My problem is understeer. I thought about wider front tires, soften up the front, lower front tire pressure. Where do you start?

I'd do something about the sway bar settings. The TRG front is very large, so I wouldn't think twice about going full soft in front. I'd start there, and I wouldn't be surprised if you also end up at full stiff in rear.

Glenn:

As you know, AutoX requires a car that rotates sharply without understeer.

To reduce the understeer and help make the car turn, set the front shocks to 6, tighten the rear swaybar, and loosen the front bar by one hole.

Try that, and if you want less "push" yet, loosen the front bar one more hole.

In addition to what Steve said, align the car with a zero toe or even a toe out setting in front. Wider tires in front might help a bit but if you can't get them warm it won't .

Hi Glen, nice to see u join this forum.
I had the same problem as you and In order to make the car rotates quickly, I have done the following:
- Mich Sport Cup in the front and Mich PS2s in the back.
As the tires warm up, the front tires are so much more stickier and it helps a lot getting rid of understeer. The car is borderline oversteering and I can rotate it as I wish.
Of course when i go back tothe street I switch the front tires back to PS2s and when I go back to the track I switch the rears back to sport cup.

It might be better to tune the suspension as others have mentionned but I found it the easiest to do this because I don t have an adjustable suspension or swaybars.

take care.
