Default How do I find out what color interior I have...

I want to order floormats but there are several shades of gray. Is the color code on the car somewhere?

For reference, I think its classic gray as mine is all gray with only the black strip of black on the dash.

Tex,

What ever gray interior you have, you'll be happier in the long run with the OEM black Lloyd mats. My car is a '97 with Classic Gray interior and was delivered with black floor mats with red PORSCHE embroidery. I tried gray floor mats and they are a PITA to keep clean. The black floor mats with the red lettering really look best and set off the otherwise pretty dull interior color.

You can now (again, finally) by the Lloyd high quality mats, the same as those that came with your car, with the proper PORSCHE embroidery. StrasseUSA sells them. I don't have their info handy, but they have a website and are in California. Talk to Gabe Strasse.

Underside the hood should be the paint and interior codes on a 3x3" white label.. (same thing posted in your handbook/maintenance guide?)

Here's a list from another rennlist post here: https://rennlist.com/forums/968-forum/118313-interior-codes.html

With interior colors as:

BG Chestnut Brown
BM Chestnut Brown
BX Chestnut Brown
DF Classic Grey
EB Black
FE Midnight Blue
FJ Midnight Blue
FK Midnight Blue
FS Cashmere Beige/Black
JB Nephrite Green
KH Chestnut Brown
LC Cashmere Beige/Black
LG Cashmere Beige/Black
LT Black
MB Boxster Red
MX Classic Grey
PT Florentine Grey
SA Black
SB Classic Grey
SC Midnight Blue
SD Chestnut Brown
SG Cashmere Beige/Black
TF Classic Grey
TT Classic Grey
US Midnight Blue
VD Black full leather
VN Black partial leather
YA Cashmere Beige/Black
XP Light Grey

Can't vouch for the accuracy though...

Clive.

I called Porsche to register my ownership of my previous car and they told me over the phone that I had "Rubicon Grey" interior (which, interestingly does not show up on that list).

Oh, and StrasseUSA has great prices.

Thanks! Mine is TT=classic grey. But now I don't know whether to get grey or black. On mine the grey mats have discolored to a purplish hue, the black would cure that from happening again. And what's up with that crazy over engineered retaining system!

Rubicon Grey is an optional special leather interior with the code VR.

Thanks for the info Mike. I've been wanting a set of these mats for awhile.

Just to add to Clive's handy list, the codes also represent the material of the interior, ie TT is 'partial leather' Classic Grey, while TF is 'full leather' Classic Grey.
