Source for RS black rockers?
I'd like to mount the black, unpainted RS side rockers to my C4 Cab. Gert gets around $900 for the pair, as does Sunset Porsche. Ouch! Anyone know of another source?
(looking for the ones on the RS below)

The purpose....areodynamics, enhanced air flow...and besides, the..
engineers at Weissach don't say too much..but in their Service Information Technik Bulletin on the 993 Carrera RS, they say that the 993 Carrera RS aero package reduces aerodynamic lift of the car to almost zero at 270 KPH, with 0 Lift on the rear and a 40 Lbs of lift at the front.
Rumor has it that a stock narrow body 993 will have lift at the rear equivalent to a 1974 911 Carrera with a Duck Tail...and if you research it you will find it to be far in excess of 40 Lbs...all the data is in the Frere book, The 911 Story.
And the side skirts for the narrow body car...I have yet to see an aftermarket set. I bought mine from Gert a few years back.
In closing, Porsche designs aerodynamic aids and sells them as a system, front splitters, side skirts and tail. It is not recommended to install them piecemeal if you are going to do any speed work. Front splitters and no tail, the car will oversteer....tail with no balancing front splitters, the car will understeer.
As far as the side skirts, their benefit is not specified in the Service Information Technik Bulletin on the 993 Carrera RS. I would think that they must smooth out air flow at a minimum and potentially create air pressure zones that tend to optimize performance...they do have a wind tunnel at Weissach...they don't just make these things up!

Great info, Martin. Sounds like a group purchase might be in order. Shall I contact Suncoast, Sunset and Gert and try to get something going?
