I thought I saw a "fix it" for this problem in the "Performance" catalog. It looked like a small
plate that goes onto the mechanism to give that thin surface a boost. Not sure if it is bolted or welded. Has anyone any experience with this?
My door has cracked loose too.

I think that plate you saw is for the door side. The problem is on the pillar side (ie the body itself). I have not seen a plate for that. I tried to develop one but I could not get it to look nice. It always looked like a patch job.
