Where to purchase HAZET half-open socket?
I'm going to give a try to DIY suspension change from stock to M030/Bilstein. As I read through the P-CAR info on R&R it says I should have a Hazet 21MM half-open socket (# 2593) to remove the top nut on the shock tower. NEVER EVER use an impact wrench!
I've not found the part on any websites that I've found HAZET tools. Anybody have a good source for this tool or suggestions for other options for R&R?
Thanks.
Keith

If I remember what I did, I got a 22mm open end socket (believe it was made for removal/installation of pressure/temperature sensors) then bought some adhesive backed aluminum sheet like what is sold for muffler repair at any auto parts house and wrapped the hex end till I got a size that just fit the shock tower nut.
Can't remember the socket number/manufacturer; will try to look at it when I get home after work.

I used a Craftsman deep well 1/2' dirve, and then used a dremel and made a cut out in the socket ala Hazet. Forced into the approach as I bought a 22mm and wound up needing a 19 and a 21mm installing the PSS9s

I second Samstag Sales. Good service, quick delivery. No affiliation, of course...

OK,checked my toolbox. I have a Hazet no. 2593 socket; this is a 22 (i.e., TWENTY TWO!!!!!!) mm socket which I modified. Got it from Zelenda Machine and Tools Corp. - longtime seller of special tools for German cars (tool no. 2593-22). Call a human at 800-221-0126 or go to http://www.zelenda.com

I bought a impact socket of the appropriate size (22mm I think), put in in my vice, and used my hand grinder to grind a nice large hole at the correct height on the socket's side to allow for an allen key. Worked like a charm and cost me only $5.95CDN and 20 minutes of my time. The impact socket is quite strong and thick walled so its still strong when removing a side, especially since the torque values are not that high.
