**CALLING CHICAGO-AREA RENNLISTERS**
After careful consultation with Mike in Chi ("um, yes, I might be able to get out of the house that day") and stealing all of Flying Finn's great ideas from his Florida fun-run of a few weeks ago (thanks again, Petu!), I'm ready to try to organize a get-together of Chicago-area rennlisters.
The date I have in mind is the morning of Saturday, June 28th.
I'm thinking of something pretty easy and low-key. We could meet for coffee or a light breakfast (maybe at a local shop or dealership, already have some leads there if that's what folks want), check out each others cars, then go for a cruise. Nobody is going to confuse Chicago-area roads with the Pacific Coast Highway, but I think we can find some reasonably enjoyable routes if we get far enough out of town.
The drive could end at a lunch destination, and the whole thing would be over by 1 PM or so, thereby preserving the rest of the day for (other) car stuff, kid stuff or honey-dos.
The main goal would be to meet each other, assign faces to names, and share some of our mutual enthusiasm about these cars. Anything beyond that would just be icing on the cake. Heck, I had a great time visiting the rennlist 993 folks down in Dallas last month, and we never even left the restaurant.
Any interest?

Hey Bob,
I would be up for it...nothing scheduled for that weekend. The last Chicago run I did was with some Pelican guys. We ended up finding a go-cart track and did some hotlaps in our P-cars! W/the owners consent of course.

Sorry, I can't make it as I'll be at Road Atlanta with the ALMS & SWC boys.
Feel free to use my name with the IL State Troopers. "That's spelled M-O-R-G-A-N F-R-E-E-M-A-N and that's Miss Daisy in the back"

COME ON NOW MIKE! Is this any way for our leader to behave? I am sure after you explain to your wife exactly what you have given up for the family this summer and that "the street" is the ONLY place that you are allowed to pass anyone, she will come around and let you go.
You could also try starting your request with "Okay now woman...."
Good luck

Eric, don't take the Hoosiers off...we can dig all the aluminum pop tabs and coins out of your tires at days end, and help pay for the event.
I also want to invite any 964 guys...I will crosspost this to their board too.
Any more 993 drivers out there?

Are lowly 951 owners invited? I live down near Starved Rock in Ottawa; work in St. Charles. Plenty of twisties down my way!
