Friend is looking at this 993 at TruSpeed Motor Cars in Costa Mesa - does anyone know anything about it? Ever delt with TruSpeed? They are asking $45k for the car. Thanks for any help on this.

I watch the 993’s on eBay and have noticed the TruSpeed buys and sells a lot of 993 on eBay. I believe they got the one you are looking at on eBay but I may be mistaken.

The first link is a 1997 993 C2S with 37000 miles on it that they bought through eBay for $43,900.

The next link is the same car on their web site. The price is not listed but I would suspect being a car dealership they are making a fair profit. I have no problem with buying and selling to make a profit. However, you are paying for them to find a car that you could have found cheaper. Good luck.

I don't think they buy their cars off of e-bay. They get their cars from dealers mostly, lot's from Newport auto as trade ins. They do list on e-bay. I've been in their shop a few times and they always have a few 993s and a lot of other nice cars. Their cars are usually well priced though I know they are willing to deal on cars that sit on their floor for a while. A few folks have bought from them and I know one had a good experience with them. In fact, I think it might have been Agro1 who bought his car from them.

Talking Truspeed's reputation is....

very good from what I have heard. I met one of the owners the other day, a stand up guy.

A Rennlister I know bought a car from Truspeed and took it to Hergesheimer for a PPI. It needed the valve guides replaced...Truspeed absorbed the cost to the best of my knowledge.

I would certainly consider a car from Truspeed.

I have seen this car at Truspeed. If that color is for you, the car is very, very clean. We just finished PPI on another of their cars this week with 18K, cars like new. They are focusing on 993's especially S, and looking for the cream of the crop. I do know they are getting a higher mileage TT in next week that they are going to be turning for a fair price.

I know this car. It was for sale up in Palos Verdes a couple of months ago for $48k. I passed because not my color preference. Owner must have had hard time selling due to color but was clean.

I purchased my C4S from Truspeed with no regrets. I believe they
represent their cars honestly. Perform your due deligence with the
insight represented here on Rennlist, and if you like the car, go for
it. If you would like my input on the car, I live close by and always enjoy
visiting Truspeed, PM me.
