There is also a signal yellow, which is a Porsche color. Mike Valentine (Cincinnati local and founder of Escort and Valentine radar detectors, and rennlist member) favors this color. He currently has a 996tt in that color and his Carrera GT was ordered in signal yellow.

Signal yellow is darker than speed yellow, and I believe it is also darker than Ferrari Fly yellow.

I think I have a picture somewhere on my other computer showing my brother's garage with a speed yellow GT-2 and a fly yellow F360 Modena, but I will have to look.

Neither color is accurate as they look too similar. FLY yellow is a bit lighter and Speed is a bit darker. Here's an okay sample of the FLY yellow:

The fly yellow has been a Color to Sample option for many years. I recently saw a Fly Yellow late 80s Turbo. Speed Yellow was a no-change option on the 993 until mid 97 after that they surcharged around $3000 for it.
I love the Speed and Fly Yellow cars. One day I will find the right one at the right time and it will come home to roost for life.

Lighten up, Viken - rain gotcha down?

Randy, pics don't do our cars justice - is that yours in the avatar as well? Two completely different colors - in person though this is my favorite color.

Another example of MY96 speed yellow.

(Viken: quick question...My MY96 Speed Yellow is single stage, no clear coat. Didn't the speed yellow change in MY97 to a base / clear???)
