Considering purchasing a 95 c4
I sold my '95 C4 about a month ago when my 997 arrived. Although I love my new car, I can say without hesitation that I will return to a 993 someday, and that 993 will be a 1995.

Not positive about that, but I've never heard of different offsets for the 95 and the 96+ Narrow bodies....

Regarding PPI's, see this thread:

i have also read here that with a '95 you need to install an additional brace/bracket if you want to move to 18" wheels...i have 17s and am quite happy (plus the tires are cheaper). if you are not planning on upgrading wheels then this is not an issue at all, and, if you wanted to upgrade, i have a feeling that installing this brace is not that big a deal (and certainly not a reason to keep you from buying a great car).
JasonF,

i'd be interested in hearing more about why you think you might want to go back to a 993. would a new 993 be in addition to your 997?

mborkow-
I'm planning to do a comprehensive comparison between the two cars (with pics, etc...) but to be fair I should wait until the 997 passes its break-in and I can really open it up.
So far, the 997 is more comfortable, is faster (on paper at least - the 993 "feels" every bit as quick) and has all the newest updated gadgets. What the 997 lacks is that very pure connection you feel between yourself and the car. My wife LOVES the 997, doesn't miss the 993 one bit, but she doesn't understand that intangible quality that we all appreciate in the 993.
I got the 997 to replace the 993 and a 325xi winter car. Buying the 997 therefore is combining two cars into one (with winter tires, of course). The rationale was to get a daily driver that was under full warranty where I could get a loaner in case of service work.
So far, I really like the 997, but the 993 is one of a kind.

man, LA insurance is hella expensive... but that'll be the best $33 you spend each month!
