Default Looking for an engine tray

Dear group,

I am still using my 993 as a daily driver during the winter, and would like to purchase an engine tray from any of you who may not need it. I feel like I should install one to help the engine warm up more quickly in the cold, and to provide some protection against salt.

I probably won't be able to check this thread until after work Monday. TIA.

Anir
Mine goes on/off with my winter tires & noticeably reduces warm up time on frigid days.
My best for the New Year to you, Nathalie & the kids.

is the "engine tray" the skid plate that is underneath the car? are people removing the engine tray to reduce weight? i have to say, that the skid plate saved me last week. a 2x4 jumped underneath my car at 75 mph and i heard it smack around underneath there and i thought my baby was a goner...drove over to my shop (was getting an oil change that am anyway as luck would have it) and they said they could see a few marks on the skid plate when they got her up on the lift, but that everything was fine.

People remove the tray to reduce heat build up in the engine. The tray was designed to reduce noise. In the summer months it's best to take it off.

Bob,

You could improve the effect by adding neon glow lights to the engine tray. Now that would be AWESOME.

A big thank you to Kim for coming to my rescue with a traditional black, non-glow-light tray.

Happy New Year to all!!! We're off to a local French restaurant for a "low-calorie" feast!
