Lucky dogs. The California coastline is some of the most beautiful I've ever seen.

More pics.

This is more like a Terry A. gallery with a little Kim thrown in since I was sandwiched in between them at the track. All great fun!

Yes, Thanks to Matt and Sonia.
I had a fantastic time and it was wonderful getting together with so many other p-car fanatics.

I just want to know how they arranged the police escort at the start of the drive!!!

Hal,

That was the strangest thing I've seen in a while! 2 San Jose PD cruisers were passing as we pulled out of the Starbucks parking lot in the morning. One of them turned on his rooftop light bar and they basically gave us an escort to the city limits. VERY STRANGE INDEED!
Maybe someone tipped them off to the rather large gathering of Porsches and they decided to apply a little traffic management and "deterrence". I had my camcorder mounted backwards on my roll bar which probably made them even more nervous. Whatever the case, I was really happy to see them hang a u-turn when we got out of town.

I'd like to add my thanks to Matt and Sonia for organising this outing. My wife and I had a great time. And it was great to meet so many porschophiles in person.
Now if I can just convince my wife to let me upgrade to a turbo-S!!

Great pics, Suwipin! I was wondering about the pic of the "parade lap" - what's up with all the tire marks headed for the inside of the turn?? Do that many cars spin that direction? The barrier doesn't look like it has been hit. Was there a motocross event there??

That turn is tricky, it's pretty fast, you've just crested a steep hill and it is not banked at all. Many Porsche owners will have experienced the back end swapping with the front, and yes, the inside wall will be in danger.

Hi Danny,

Thanx for the nice comments

I'm pretty sure that once you move to B.C., you'll have a much much more scenic and enjoyable drives than us here.

Hi Matt, Hal:

Yeah I was surprised that we got a police escort at the beginning of our drive, what a pleasant surprise

Hi AJ:

Here's a pic right before the turn in of Turn-6

<a href="http://hobbystage.net/porsche/media.cgi?site=suwipin&folder=*&id=1030516117-002344" target="_blank">http://hobbystage.net/porsche/media.cgi?site=suwipin&folder=*&id=1030516117-002344</a>

I think Jimmy's description is accurate... I always feel (not on the parade lap ) that I was a bit jerky on that turn.
