Anyone know anything about this car?
Located in Austin, Texas. Previous California car with a total Porsche engine rebuild. Clean carfax. Should I consider this or does the engine rebuild raise too many issues?

If it's a true Porsche-authorized and -documented rebuild, I wouldn't be scared away from it. That, plus the extra warranty, is pretty attractive. But I wouldn't pay a premium for it because the rest of the car components are still 8 years old and may need customary maintenance. Learn some more about the nature of the mods. What factory adjustable suspension is he talking about? Source for the ECU upgrade? Engine kill switch? Why? Was the car tracked? Or is he mistakenly referring to the immobilizer? It could be a nice driver's car, but more info is needed. A clean carfax is a start, but try to dig into the service records offline with the seller.

The car is advertised locally in the paper for $65k:

It's odd that he's listing the mileage in the ad as 9000 mi without the disclaimer that it's 9000 mi on the new engine, but 53k mi on the car. Huge difference!!! I think this is deceptive and question the ethics of the seller.
Just my 2 cents. It sure looks nice in the pics, though. I think you're doing the right thing going for the TT if that what you want. But, what about your statement about not loving that huge rear wing on the TT?

I'm still undecided about the rear wing... I certainly think the car looks better without it. But I might be willing to sacrifice the looks for a huge injection of power...?

I'd keep looking. There are very nice, low mileage TTs out there. Pay a premium, get someone's baby. Know the owner and the history. Worth the extra $ IMO. Probably nothing wrong with this car, but.... For my money I'll demand more. I will be looking next year, so I have given it some thought. Follow your gut, then your mind, then your emotions. Enjoy the hunt.
