I think we have one of those at work. From my experience using it, I wouldn't think it would be accurate enough to measure 1 degree with certainty. I'll have to try it. Thanks for the tip.
Yessir, that be the one.

If one is patient with it, the needle settles down on mine after you set it in the sill and you can read the angle.

The digital ones are also good although they do cost more.

You should be thanking Steve, he is the one suggesting it.

Just make sure you're on level ground when doing this, first. Not as easy as it may sound.

Those manual protractors are very accurate if you let them settle, take a few different readings, average them, etc. I used to align v-drives on drag boats with one just like it, and never lost a prop shaft or a bearing. Certainly accurate enough for this purpose.
