Car slow starting after driving for awhile???
My car runs perfect when started and then ran for a short period of time. However if I run it for say 2 or 3 hours and then turn it off and let it set for a few minutes or even a 1/2 hour it sometimes doesn't start the first time I turn it over???
It usually starts the second time. I did notice once in awhile the key needed to be pushed in all the way or I had to tap the gas while turning the key.
Now this only happens once in awhile which leads me to believe it is bad gas or carbon built up. Anyone else have a similar situation.

That is pretty common Spring Time behavior in the Mid-West and East. The fuel is still essentially a winter blend, with high RVP (a particular spec for Vapor Pressure). This high RVP fuel makes for easy starting in cold weather but boils/vapor locks in warmer conditions.
After you run and shut down the engine, the heat soak is probably boiling the fuel. When you crank, the injectors are spitting vapor and it needs to clear from the system. Giving some throttle increases the fuel flow and helps clear out the vapor. I would run the tank fairly low to get the old fuel out, and then fill at a station that does high volume. I would imagine that you are now starting to get a warmer weather blend of fuel and the problem will go away.
