Are the drawings above the tools used to remove the hinges from the car? I think one is a slide hammer which is used in conjunction with the other that must slip over a door hinge.

Hi Kevin,
Are you able to get the hinge pins out without any damage? They seem like they would be very difficult to remove. The two tools are not that expensive and are made by Hazet.

Ron;
My drift punch is about 11" long. I used duct tape on the lower rocker and along the door/fender edge. It is tricky, but very do-able. If you aren't sure get the tools.

Hi Ron,
I have removed the pins on my 83SC...I ended up using a threaded ready rod with a sliding hammer weight and a washer/nut on top, and welded a little hook on the other end to hook on the top of the pin. Use the weight hitting against the top of the rod to help "pull" up on the pin. Okay, Okay, my explaination is not that great...if you want to make one I can send more details. Anyways the pins just popped out.
While you are in there check out the brass bushings in the hinges...I replace the ones in my SC but you have to ream them out...that is difficult since its are to find a 8mm ream that long. You could use a drill but be carefull to make sure the top and bottom hinges are aligned. Again another long story and at the end it was better that I just left the hinges as they stood. ;-(
I tried the drift idea but did not have a drift long enough...but in retrospec great idea, I should have looked for a longer one!
