Default Am I selling my car for too little? Too much?

Just wondering if anyone thinks I've priced my car either too low or even too high. It's a 1996 C4 cab, 45k miles, with about every option I know of (full leather dash/interior, litronics, hardback sport seats, rear-seat-delete, chrome tips, Techart splitters/rockers, alum dials,...). I seem to be getting some interest now that I've priced it at $39,500 so I'm wondering if that's too low.

Details:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=171865747

And I can't believe how many scammers have been contacting me! Do people fall for their ploys?

thats funny! "I seem to be getting some interest now"
You do want to sell the car, right? So I guess "some interest" would be a good thing.
If you got No interest, it was probably priced TOO HIGH

did you look up what other have theirs listed as in comparable shape/options, etc?

...other ads on pca.org, rennlist, cars.com, autotrader, hemmings, etc.?

That is what I would go on...

BTW: I don't think it is too low IMHO...

I'm not a good judge on Cabrio 993s.. they seem to fluctuate A LOT! I saw cabrio 993s at one time selling below $30k (last year) but now they seem to hover around $32K to $36K ....

Given your options, I'm not sure if the price is too high... perhaps someone else can chime in here?

Eric,

If you're getting some interest now that you've priced it at $39,500, does that mean you had no to very little interest at a higher price? If this is the case, it sounds like you've priced it correctly, despite the many options your car has. The market is going to be a tad soft for cabs at this time of year.

immho.... wrong time to sell (a cab.). esp. where you're located. your price (to me) is great & more than fair. are you taking much of a hit? seems i remember your eary post when you purchased...

damn... gotta' say here in cali a pretty-loaded '96 cab., such as yours would sell in a weekend @ 39k.

I'd pay that for a similarly equipped coupe with lower mileage. In other words, the Cab is a disincentive for me personally...

The Cab would be an INcentive for me. Given the options, mileage, etc. I think it's very fairly priced. Have you put it on eBay? The thing about our cars is to find the person who's been looking for it. You have to get it in front of as many eyes as possible.

I think the car is very fairly prices and would sell for as muc as the the mid-forties in So. Cal. if you have the full service history, etc. Good luck with it - try the autotrader.com site so people in CA might see the car if they do a nationwide search.

Default Didn't this car have some extensive body damage?

If so, I'd assume that would make your price seem about right.

No hddude there's no body damage (unless you know something I don't know!!) Geez, I would have put that in the ad if it were true.

So it sounds like I'm priced pretty low, which is what I figured. I guess this really is just the wrong time to sell. Grrr. I guess a highly optioned car is even harder to sell since you need to find somebody who values the options.

CP- not sure what and when for a replacement. I'd like to get into a 993 coupe but I'll take my time on that. Too cold up here for me to enjoy the cabrio.

And my Ebay auction ended this week ($39,500 reserve, $41,000 BuyItNow) with only 2 lowball bidders.

Is the carbon dash original Porsche or aftermarket carbon fiber?

The shift **** and e-brake lever came stock from the factory and the dash parts were added later.

I think it is overpriced. I think you sell it to me for about $20k.
