Default structured Weight loss program

Is there a structured step by step process in a Jenny Craig program for 993's and are there varying programs like
mild (occasional track)
moderate (moderate tracking)
extreme (princetons car)

I think with all those programs Street legal should be kept in mind.

I was gonna do a poll but with the pent up heat on this board right now I thought not!

Oh and since getting a euro car in the US is not likely, lets despense with the
get a euro rs comments.
I DID do a search and found lots of threads on the topic but not in any structured manner.

Do the easy ones

* Recaros
* Remove rear seats
* Remove mufflers (you did this already)
* Remove rear wiper

Next will be
* RS door panels
* Engine muffling
* Smaller battery
* Carbon EVERYTHING

In addition to jauder's suggestions:

- replace cats with sports cats (the original cats are very heavy)
- lightweight wheels (where the weight counts for much more)
- RS alternator pulley upgrade
- RS flywheel and clutch
- lightweight rear spoiler
- remove engine undertray

a couple questions re: the weight loss program
1) are there any problems with sport cats triggering a cel on OBDII cars?
2) Does removing the rear seats really make a weight difference (as I imagine that the wooden rear seat delete kit is almost the same weight)?

Alex,

If you remove the rear seats and the belt system - there is about 20lbs back there in my car.

Cheers,
Boris

First decide if the car will ever be raced. Then look at the rules for what's allowed in different classes before you start ripping stuff out, only to need to put it back later to be in the right class. A tt in "stock" form would be a pretty fine C class car. You'll even save money by not being able to modify it!

I would argue that the weight is not an important factor for a less skilled driver and getting the car 100 lb lighter will not improve lap times as much as an extra day or two at the track will. I have torn out a lot of stuff and dropped a few hundred pounds. Am I that much faster because of it? Probably not. If I add the weight of a 200+ pound passenger I find it's about 0.5 seconds slower.

Try it yourself with and without a passenger before you spend time and money worrying about a couple hundred pounds and all the money it will cost to lose the weight (and what class it shoves you into). Yes, we all love to talk about our lap times (especially if they are faster than the guy we are talking to!) However, I think we all saw what skill can do when we looked at Arnaud's or Harry's lap times at Buttonwillow and compared them to ours (and it wasn't because their cars were 200 lb lighter or more hp than ours).

Paul - Humpty Dumpty in SoCal?

Without effecting too much usability, replace the sunroof and front bonnet with CFiber pieces.

Since I know you live in the Mojave, removing the AC is not an option, but could be if you go nuts...

Lastly, an old addage a buddy of mine has is "salad = speed" - translated, a lighter you = a lighter car...

Paul,

What's the weight of your new wheels compared to the hollow spokes?

SCOTT!!! SSSSshhhhhh!!!! The plan is to go back to my spokes for track wheels. I really havent
got that one by my wife yet-- she still thinks I am gonna sell em. When she squawks about it I make a feeble attempt to sell them
DISCLAIMER: If you had intended to buy them I WOULD have sold them to you.

If I can keep them long enough, I will mount em up with some track tires!!
DONT TELL ANYONE!!

Same place where you bought the TRG sways... he will set you up. Actually I should not say *best* but a *great* bang for the buck. Around 110 lbs I believe.

Again... diverging opinion! Get a Lotus super 7 clone.

Comes in weighing nothing (500 kgs), components are cheap and found in Cracker Jack boxes, with a 200 HP engine will be faster than any P turbo, road holding like s*** on a blanket. More fun than a barrel of monkeys too. Cheap.

And when you take it into the kitty litter, repairing it is easy... coat wire material from your corner dry cleaner will do the trick.

Come on dudes, why must everything be Porker???
