I got:

Model 3000N-Flat - 3000N with flat top post & rubber pad....................... $95.00ea

I went cheap on the jack and just got the sears $100 special.

$400 for jack stands is pretty steep, but the quality of the stands are awesome. You may just want to get the auto lift instead. There's one on ebay at $1000 right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=43998&item= 2416224959

$1000 is a pretty good deal, especially since the price differnce is only $500 from the jack and jack stand combo. I think that I would have chosen this route to begin with.

Plus, you can spend more time working on your car becuase it won't take you 1/2 an hour to get the car up on jack stands everytime!

Be warned however, if you get the auto lift, you may suddenly have a line of rennlisters knocking on your garage door to do service on their cars! ( I'll probably be first in line.. )

I have a lift but didn't use it. The pad (where the car is lifted under the rocker area) interferes with access to the drain plug for the right side drain and the riser mechanism interferes with the placement of the pan underneath the right side drain. I gave up and used my manual jacks instead. Bummer!

Pics of my lift are in my link below.
