Default Road trip to eastern Sierra - pics

Nancy and I did a quick weekend trip to the eastern Sierra this weekend. Around 750 miles round trip with lots of twisty roads going to Tuolumne Meadows (high country of Yosemite), great fly fishing, and for Calif, some nice colors. Sunday we woke up to snow!

I appologze in advance for both the size and quality of pics - I'm still trying to figure this out.

Don...Your pictures look great. I really like the one with the trees in full fall foliage in the background and the one with the snow...looks like a great outing!

Does a supermodel apologize for being gorgeous? No. Did June Cleaver apologize for baking mouth watering cookies? No. Do bears apologize for sh%ting in the woods? How would I know? Don't apologize for generously sharing your passion with fellow 993 junkies. We too need our free fix and appreciate it. Nice pictures and swell car.

Regards,
Matt

Sweet, love em. Nature and 993's, what a combo.
Lemme help ya with that sizing thing. This is the best of the bunch. White car, snow, yada, yada.

Hope you don't mind if I give you my interpretation of your wonderful shot.

Hell, use it as an avatar, since you don't have one.

I love the Eastern Sierras in the fall. Have you ever eaten at the gas station at the Tioga Pass, across from Mono Lake? I kid you not, it has the best food in the region.

The road to Tolumne Meadows runs right through the middle Yosemite National Park. It's a great run when it's open, and is accessible from Hwy. 120 out of Modesto for you SF types, or 395 from the Eastern Sierra. Unfortunately they closed it for the season after the storm this week. Don and his wife got the last Tioga Pass run of the season.....

Tioga Pass begins at Mono Lake and runs up into the Sierras. You can follow the road all the way to Yosemite, a beautiful trip. If you are ever there, try the gas station right off 395, the one with the trapeze. I know it sounds weird but they have great food.

Great picture of the car in the snow. Almost time to go snowboarding!

Reminds me of a couple years ago while headed up highway 88 to Kirkwood. There was a long line of cars slowly moving along in the snow. All of a sudden this silver 996 blows by us, passing everyone in the other lane. Kind of insane, but it was cool to watch at the same time...

Thanks everyone. Some of you may have seen my thread a week ago asking for company on the trip and no one took me up on it.

What was weird was after getting gas in Lone Pine, a very small "city" on 395, I pulled out of the gas station and their was another p-car at the signal. By the time we got a green, a second p-car arrived. For the next 100 miles or so we cruised together. As we reached a turn-off, we each rolled down our windows and waved to each other - a short and unspoken friendship.

I am honored that I now have a avatar from Alan - thanks!
