C4S Logo
I have a 97 C4S, the original owner order it with model deletion (No C4S logo on back). I ordered the logo's from porsche, but I think the they gave me the wrong "S". From pictures that I have seen there is a notched in the inside of the S where the tip of "4" goes, but my S has no notch.
Does anyone know if the S should or should not have the notch?
Does any when know of some close up pictures of the logo?
TIA
Tom

Bill,
Sorry Bill, the factory logo files are no longer avaliable in the p-car.com web site. Apprently it is a violation of the Porsche copyright and trademark to have those things hosted on a private web site.

I snapped the S on my C4S with a 100% cotton white Made in the USA terry cloth towel (Zaino heads will understand). The dealership first sold me the S that went with the C2S, (smaller and no notch), however the other S option in their microfiche was "turbo look". That is the correct notched S.
Good luck. $17, I think.

One other question, is there any special procedure to installing the stickers?
Do I need to remove the wax on engine lid before install?
Thanks again!

Tom-
You get one shot at putting that thing on correctly, cause that German stickum is the toughest I've ever seen. At least you do not have to take anything off first!! I would'nt worry about taking off the wax

when you go to put that S on, take off the paper backing and put some soapy water on the sticky side. That way you can get it positioned just right before you press it "permanently" onto the lid. Gives one a little leeway with positioning decals before sticking.

From the sounds of it, removing the wax probably isn't critical to getting the adhesive to stick. But it's always a good idea to prep the surface as well as you can. The best product I've heard (and used) for doing this is 3M adhesive remover. You can get it about anywhere. Most mail order places carry it. It's ok to use on the paint, doesn't require any elbow grease, and removes the wax (and dirt particles) without any fuss.
