Has anybody used Auto Sport Engineering in Stow? They're pretty close to me and I'm looking to develop a long-lasting relationship where I give somebody a lot of money every once in a while in return for keeping my 1995 993 in top shape.

I heard of A company in Stow that was supposed to be good, probably was them. I would not use any Boston Dealers, they are terrible. I heard Rennsport in Framingham is good, but no first hand experiance, they did my PPI.

I posted a similar thread a few months back, there were some good sugestions there. Take a look, search for my handle.

Contact Rob Fitzgerald @ 781-784-1398. He is the former head technician at Chambers and recently left after many years to start Robert's Porsche - Mercedes Service. He just opened up his own shop in Sharon, MA.

Bob knows the air cooled 911's better than anyone I have ever met. And he is a great guy to deal with!

rene (proprietor & head wrench) at RENSPORT in framingham has been very helpful and am sure he's one of the best in the area.

I did go back and search for Massachusetts mechanics, but didn't see any mention of Auto Sport Engineering specifically. I interested in them because they're 10 minutes from my house, opposed to an hour or more for EPE, Rennsport, or any of the dealers.

Their website doesn't have a lot of information, http://www.autosportengineering.com but I think I heard somewhere that they've been in the business for 30 years.

Before I started using EPE I had my car towed to Lenny's place in Stow. I had been looking for somewhere to have my car serviced (besides the dealer in Burlington (2+hrs away) and autosport had been highly recommended by a lot of the local scca autocrossers (plus I worked 10 minutes away.) Anyway, they ended up keeping the car for 8 days and told me the reason was because of their bosch hammer (i don't remember the specifics but I believe they had to get one but weren't exactly upfront about not having one.) My problem was a bad idle control something (don't have the receipt infront of me.) which including labor ended up costing a little over $100 (i was pissed at the time because they had the car for so long but happy when I got the bill.) When picking up the car they went through explaining everything to me and apologizing for the delay. Their facilities were extremely nice, I wasn't expecting what I saw after pulling down the driveway in the middle of Stow. There were a LOT of porsches there including a few being prepped for the 24hrs of daytona. I believe they were also a RUF dealer at the time. I ended up meeting Jerry from EPE up at NHIS and used them uptill last year when I moved to the berkshires. Last summer I used the local dealer out here for 90k service and now (for various reasons which I won't post on a public forum) have learned to service the car myself. If I were still living in south central mass and hadn't had run into the EPE guys my car would probably be getting its maintenance done in Stow.

You might try Randolph Racing in Stoughton ... 911 specialists, great facility, lots of track know--how as well. 781 344-1029.
