Wow, thanks to all that have responded! So many great places to choose. I will look into each of your recommendations.

btw, I am traveling up from SoCal and staying in the Monterey/Carmel area for a couple days before heading up to Napa, that is why I mentioned Laguna Seca.

We stayed at The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort & Spa which has a great restaurant there called the Carneros - really good wine collection with one of those glass wine vaults - cool looking and great food.
In Sonoma, we ate at a place called Tuscany - the food was pretty good but the service is cr@p, and dont (whatever else you do) DONT go on the Wine Train, that was a complete waste of time!!
