I'm hopping the TT prices keep dropping so I can keep the cab and pick up a TT as well.

I chose the turbo because I can quickly dismiss most other cars on the road and escape most difficult situations that arise on the road with little effort
AND I just love saying four hundred frickin horsepower!

and I hardly ever get to drive my car, I am thinking of selling and replacing with a nice sedan and a dedicated fun car (maybe a 951 or an SC)
So experts, what is my car worth
1997 C2
Arena Red/Cashmere
61k miles
Porsche Cert Warranty through 100k or 12/18/06 whichever comes first (Transferable at no charge)
Litronic (Xenon) lights
HiFi Sound
MotorSound Option
Driver Comfort seat with Lumbar
Overall excelent condition. Had an RMS Leak at 59K miles changed the Clutch and Flyweel while there. 60K mile service performed by Dealer. A few rock chips in the nose hood but the paint is glossy and clean with no paintwork. Interior is in great shape with just the normal seat bolster wear.

just my feeble attempt at levity. You bring up a good point and you are correct.

yeah,
I laugh every time I look at that picture. Silly bathroom humor - but what can I say, I am a diehard Ali G fan.
Now as to this TT/ C2S debate: It is quite interesting. WHile I agree with OG regarding the resale value differential, I honestly don't think all people would prefer a TT over a NA. Though I think TT's are amazing cars, my preference would be for an RS. Why? not sure but I think it has something to do with the "purity" of the drive.
I have driven a TT before and love it but the interaction of driver, road and car that one can get with an RS (I am getting this info from driving a close replica before) is second to none. Now when it comes to TT vs. a C2S - bring on the boost baby!!
Oh yeah, even though I won't produce the middle finger anymore to people that advertise their na cars for > $70k, I will certainly be thinking it

Heres the last thing that doesnt add up with whole thing. Why would the LAST of the aircooled Turbos,
the one that ALOT of 911 owners consider the pinnacle of turbo development, an instant classic as labeled by some, be the ONLY turbo that is not worth as much as its NA brethren. THAT just makes no sense to me.

OG I completely agree. It would not make sense that a standard NA car would be worth more than a tt - ever. That being the case where would you place the RS in comparison to the TT for value?
I would also ask where would someone place the 996 GT3 in comparison to the 996 TT 5 years from now?

How about a '97 C2S ... Artic silver/grey leather ... 17000 miles ... second owner ... located in Vero Beach, Florida ... asking $57500 ... saw it advertised in local paper. I know you said you didn't partcularly want low mileage, but that's what it is.

I generally agree with OG. The 993 TT (or 996 TT for that matter) is a genuine daily-drive-capable supercar. The fact that they were only made in 96 and 97, and the last of the aircooled turbos I think will keep a floor under them for some time. The big drop off from original sticker has more to do with the high original sticker. It all comes down to alternative ways to spend your money. If turbos price out lower than C2S's, then god help all of us with our resale values. I know if turbo prices were low enough, I would have bought one.
