Post How to arrange factory tour on short notice

I'm going to be in Meinz, Germany all week and just found out that I have Wednesday free - I'd really like to get a factory tour if possible.

I checked the PCNA site and couldn't find anything - does anyone know who to call to arrange? I'd prefer to find someone in Germany given that I'm on my way there right now.

Thanks much.

Try Tanya?? (.. 49 711 911 9626) on the main desk at the attached "Porsche Zentrum Stuttgart" Dearlership/Service center, she was very helpful when I went there last year.

Rick,

Forgot to mention, you'll be very lucky.... the factory tours get booked up months in advance.

The Porsche Museum is well worth a visit anyway. No booking required and free entry, even a wander around the Zentrum dealer is worth it, they put some of the Museum "overflow" on the top (3rd) floor.

I have done it with less than 5 days notice...in the winter they are not that busy and there are slots, especially if its only one person. I used my local dealer who pushed it through. Amazing amount of paperwork though!

Cheers,

Mike

When I went on the tour, several people just walked up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> ! That was last September. I'd think it'd be easier in March.

Good luck!

Went to oktoberfest a few years back and we thought about driving up to the factory on a moments notice. So we drove up there in our passat rental wagon. That poor 4 banger really took a beating on that trip. When we got there they were real adamant about having a reservation weeks in advance. So we went into the museum instead. While it was great to see a real 959 and a film on Porsche history, it was a real let down to be at the factory and not being allowed to go on a tour. If I were to do it again (and I will) I'll make sure to have a reservation.
