Default Voxx wheels

I'm on my way out the door to check out a 95C2. The previous owner replaced the wheels with some PIMPDADDY 18" Voxx wheels that are very drug-dealer looking. I'm talking "get your a$$ dragged out fo the driver's seat and given the Rodney King treatment " kind of BLING-BLING! Plus, sadly, he sold the original wheels.

Let's set aside from the concerns about how someone of this character might treat such a fine automobile...

I know nothing about this brand of wheel and considering my visceral reaction, will probably get rid of them immediately.

Can I get some feedback about the reputation/quality of Voxx wheels? Does such a big wheel up front contribute to significant understeer?

thanks in advance

Yes, its red, located in Guilford CT, and has ~18.9K miles on it.

Any help before I shell out for a PPI?

I was going to do a complete writeup of my notes last night but was having sign-in problems. Also was trying to buy a membership but the pages to enter my credit card were non-encrypted/non-secure?

THanks all,
John

John - I looked at this car a few months ago. Don't even take it in for a PPI. TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what we would call a 'parts car'. The WHOLE front end has been replaced. The car is a C4, but has C2 brakes... Here's what I previously posted on Rennlist....

1995 993 Coupe
Guards Red / Cashmere
18K miles
Deviating carpet
18" 3 pc wheels (Voxx - never heard or seen them before)
VIN # WP0AA2996SS321496
North Madison, CT - 14 miles North of New Haven
70% of the body paneling has been replaced.
I think the guy's name is 'Mike'.
It has a clean CARFAX, which again goes to show you not to rely soley on their so-called service...

Let me know if this is the car..

Here are some of my notes;

Paint generally very good shape, a few small chips around the gas tank filler door.

Hood hydraulics no good.

Some minimal surface mildew on the interior plastic (indicating sitting idle)

No owner records...sticker for small radiator/ac shop on the trunk door

Excessive drivetrain noise...excessive backlash or LSD issues?

Some cracking of rubber pads/gaskets (normal level for aged car)

Car exhibits no creaking/unexpected noises.

THATS IT!

I noticed some body bolts had red paint on them, some were black, was wondering if that was normal, apparently not.

Also didn't get that "warm and fuzzy' when he told me it doesn't leak oil, but I found it a-plenty on his garage floor.

...the search continues....

I have a friend that's looking to sell his 97' Cab in order to finance a real estate deal. Let me know if you're interested.
