the boxster is lookin' better than ever... the 'my03' was just toothiness (imho). i agree re: the 'my05' steering wheel & new shoes though, they 'blow'!!!... car isn't even out & already we want to mod it. gotta' love it!
Boris, I don't work for Porsche and can't say for sure, but it seems to me that it should be straightforward for them to get the extra horsepower. If you consider that the 3.6L engines in the 996 and 997 have 315 to 325 HP, the following should hold:
315 / 3.6 = 87.5
87.5 * 3.2 = 280
320 / 3.6 = 88.88
88.88 * 2.7 = 240
And taking this a bit further we could guess what Porsche could do over the lifetime of the 987 based on what the 3.8L does today:
355 / 3.8 = 93.42
93.42 * 3.2 = 299
93.42 * 2.7 = 252
I think the new Boxster looks great. I'm not quite sold on the round air vents, but like the 997 I'm sure it will look better in person. There is a resemblance to the 997, but more differences than between the 986 and early 996.
Like the 997 makeover, I like this one over its predecessor...cleaner, more fluid lines. Funny how Porsche abandoned the fried-egg headlights altogether
