Default Getting car history from chassis number

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to get the recording service history of a 993 through its chassis number? Does this have to be done through a Porsche dealer?

Thanks.

Yep, dealer only. And they want to to furnish the proof of ownership.

Thanks. So how can you check up on a car before buying it if they won't give any details out to anyone but the current owner?

Hi Stephan,

Get the current owner to either request it or have it in writing. It its a dealer they should be able to request it. If they refuse then suspect something is up.....

Cheers,

Mike

Not sure if it's any different with dealers in Europe, but when I brought car in for PPI, the Porsche dealer stated that the only data they could have based on VIN# was the Warranty work performed at any dealer. They could not provide service data.

I was only able to get the IPAS ( which is the full specifications and options at the time of manufacturing and where was the car destinated to go), through the dealer, I even tried tracking a car through the VIN that was imported from Italy to check whether it had been stolen in Europe and Porsche was not able to provide any help, they said I should check with the Interpol, which I already knew, but they do not have an office here. So very little help unless yo know someone, at least in my personal experience.

Trying to figure out if my car was equipped with a M033 suspension which was not on the sticker, I posted my question on the german Porsche web site. The answer came through the belgian importer by e-mail. They ware able to tell me that my car was originally by a Porsche personnal, and they gave me what was stnadard on my car at that time. I give you the link here below, sorry it's only german, may be they'll be able to help you.

Question on your Porsche

I could help you to fill in the form if you like.
