Post OEM wings for sale

I am looking at selling the OEM RS rear wing with front splitters, painted in Arctic Silver. I just bought these, painted them and decided not install them.

I also selling the OEM Tequipment rear biplane spoiler in Arctic Silver for narrow bodied cars, this is the one without brake light.

As this is not the Classified section I will not post prices or pictures, please contact me for more information.

Hi Lat,

Just out of interest; why did you go to the trouble of buying two different types of rear wings and painting them before deciding that you did not want either? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

You wouldn't happen to have a few more spoilers that you had bought for friends who subsequently didn't want them?

Excuse my suspicion but we have had a few dodgy dealers knocking around these pages recently....

I took pictures of both, printed them and hung them on the wall and pondered. I decided to go with the Aerokit, unfortunately the Aerokit I is for a coupe not a cab. and so it does not have the brake light built in. Thus I am selling the complete RS package and only the tail of the Aerokit package and I ordered an Aerokit 1b with brake light.
If you are concerned about my intentions please check my eBay feedback at "LAT2" I have 20+ transactions with excellent reviews. I have been using eBay for over 5 years.
Anything else you would like me address......my suspicious friend.

Sorry LAT for a little humor at your expense. There have been some funny "dodgy dealers" of later. Good luck with your sale

when one buys parts of this nature, how do you handle painting -- do you ask a dealer or private shop to match as best they can your present color and hope for the best?

I went looking for a shop that uses Spiess Heckler paint, the same brand that Porsche uses.
This is the process I have seen used successfully. The painter mixes up a batch as per the computer recommendation based on your color code and spray it on a neutral test card. A test card is about 4"x8". This card is held against the car in various places and light condition, inside florescent, outside overcast and then again on a sunny day. The painter then decides if the card is right on or if it is off color and in what direction, ie. too dark, too light, needs more yellow etc. and the process is started again. When the card is finally acceptable the part is sprayed and bolted on. This is the process for abutting parts, the easiest is to blend in a part, ie. get the hood painted at the same time as the spoiler or the front bumper at the same time as the splitters. Blending will give you a better result then abutting.
I hope this answers your question.

Hi Lat,

No offense meant though it's quite unusual to take the approach that you took given the cost of the parts involved and the reduction in value, once painted. Shame they were not polar silver...

Good luck with your sale.

Cheers,

David
