This is the second time they have placed this auction. The first time it did not get any bids. They are brand new in the box I would think someone would want them. If it wasn't for coilovers and new clutch coming up I would buy them.

I emailed a few questions to the seller and wasn't completely pleased with the answers. Maybe after the DICKson fiasco I'm a bit too caustious...
These lights have been re-listed at least 4 times that I am aware of, BTW.

You will however have a genuine factory product, so there should be no issues with DoT, or possibly if you come to sell the car prospective buyers being put off my non oem upgrades.
Personally if I could have got the Litronics for a sensible price I would have probably installed them, but they were at least 3 times the cost of the Autolamps route (and that price - the best I could get - was from Gert too).
Cheers,
John.

The H1 conversion would put out more light because they don't have the shields inside the lens that the factory Litronics do. The shields stop the light from going parallel with the ground so you dont blind the oncoming drivers. That is why the convertion are not legal in the U.S. (but I have converted my car anyway,)
it is just like runing the European setups but as for me I would buy the factory Litronics thats just because it's me. But the factory xenon bulbs are going to be cheaper then the molded H1 bulb 5-7 years from now, and who knows if the xenon companys are going to be here in 10 years. And by the way the D2S bulbs sell on ebay for 10-50 bucks a pair now. That is what I think if someone else thinks different let me know.

I have a pair of genuine LHD litronics in the garage, and the main difference is oviously the bulb mounting, but also the beam deflector, which is fixed on the US LHD lights and variable on the UK RHD lights.
So if you slap an H1 mount HID bulb (like I have) the beam is still cut off, just as it is with standard H1 55w tungsten bulbs.

Although the bulbs do have a long life, so you shouldn't be expecting to replace them any time soon. Also,k who knows how many other companies will be producing H1 mount bulbs by then, eh <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Well, I made a successful bid for the lights. Before the sale, the seller seemed reasonable. He had lots of positive feedback, but it was all on low-cost items like comic books and stuff like that. But since he was willing to ship them COD, I figured that he must be legit. I didn't really want to go throught he hassle of COD, so I paid him with Paypal. That was on March 4. He told me he shipped them USPS (i.e. no tracking number) on March 5. Didn't show up for a week. Didn't show up for two weeks. On the plus side, the seller kept responding to my e-mails and said if they didn't show up by the end of this week he'd send me another set at no charge if I'd send back the first set when they got here. I figured "right" and started to wonder whether I'd be able to contest the credit card charge from Paypal. Well, lo and behold today they show up by mail, the genuine article and postmarked March 5 just like he said. I think he's got more sets that he periodically puts on e-bay. Not a scam.

I purchased a set and had the same experience with the crappy USPS parcel post. I don't know why he doesn't ship UPS or Fedex. I was about to call AMEX and cancel the deal.
The parts are the real deal, and a good deal. He is a Porsche parts distributor and a former owner of FVD (he says). He has more than a few sets.

Looking at the Ebay site, it looks like a used item? PLEASE be careful when purchasing used HID Capsules
Also, there are lots of people selling this stuff so cheap because they are STEALING them. Not saying this guy is stealing them, but if he is, youre supporting the growing number of thieves who break into cars, pop the hood and steal HID housings and capsules. It has happened to many friends of mine.. ARGH!
I know for a fact, that genuine, NEW, HID capsules do not go for that cheap.
