Talking

I'm in!!

Just placed my order on www.liteswap.com . Many thanks to everyone for blazing the trail! I am very interested in the igniter in the headlight housing while utilizing the factory connectors DIY. Please let us know how that goes.

Brian,

Yup, you are a little far for a DIY get together, but please email pics when you get at it.

I will have my kit early in the timeline, but may not get to the install until late March. We'll see.

Talk to you later,

Skip

Anyone in the Chicago area want to schedule a DIY day for the install later this month?

If you guys do one, I'd LOVE to see pics of a Liteswap DIY Install Day

For those of you who ordered and are local to me, I wouldn't mind setting up a day as well and coming out to supervise/help.

I have the OEM litronics but would be interested in the driving light upgrade. Is there a group buy on that? and how hard is installation?

Thanks

Mark, Eric has said the HID foglight kit would be 320.00. I would email him and ask for availability of the kit. I know he had one kit but it might have sold by now. His email is info@liteswap.com

I've not done the fog - HID conversion, but I've some experience w/HID & have both disassembled (to clean) & then replaced my fogs (w/turbo S ducts w/fogs). Converting the H3 fogs to HID should be considerably easier & faster than the headlights. There's ample room for the ballast/igniter & the wiring is straight forward.

However, why HID fogs? If you want "HID" color, it's far cheaper to buy a different bulb. The construction of the fogs really are designed to light the road under the fog for a relatively short distance w/minimal reflection back. They limit & control light output regardless of what's inside. The range will be less than your low beams & unless you rewire, the fogs go off when the highs go on.

Dan and Brian, many thanks for the replies, I would be very interested in seeing pictures of an OEM style install.

Liteswap, shipping costs to the UK seem prohibitive at the moment, however, I may have to visit a friend in Texas in the near future so I may order when I know when I am coming over and get you to ship to there.

Then I can simply put them in my suitcase and return home (If any customs officers are on this site I will obviously declare them !!!)

Thanks

Stuart

I don't know why it's so much for liteswap to ship to you given the relatively small & light package. However, if you do the research, I don't mind acting as your shipping dept. - i.e., having your kit shipped to me & I'll ship it out to you, assuming that'll be less expensive.
