Cooz,

Yer there is an OEM brace, though I don't recall the p/n. Call Steve at Rennsport. He's a great guy to work with, a sponsor to this board, and he's a Rennlist Tech Advisor contributor (I think that's the tile ...Aw just call him

I have a OEM Porsche Supercup strut brace from a 993 Supercup. I would sell it for $300 if you are interested.

Here's an old post of mine from one of the many threads:

Do a search ("strut bar" or "strut brace") - many prior threads.

BTW, don't overtighten the mounting bolts.

The bar from Rennlist sponsor AJ-USA is quite nice & may still be available at the R-list member discounted price of $160. BTW, I had a "Rennline" bar which I replaced w/the B-K bar.

Any opinions on the BK carbon fiber strut brace? Is the $100 difference worth it or is the CF just some nice bling?

If you mount it over the carpet, it's a matter of aesthetics w/o any performance difference. If it's under the carpet, save the $100 for something else. My $.02.

OEM part number is 964.343.042.00. As I recall, it was a very reasonable price, especially after the PCA $100 parts coupon!

I have this bar as well. I prefer OEM parts for mods if at all possible.

I like the AJ USA bar. It is VERY beefy.

I have a TechArt brace, which is very light but very strong. So strong, in fact, when the last car it was on was in a 40 mph front-end collision, it did a great job keeping the front of the car (and me) more or less in one piece, the body shop told me. It emerged unscathed, car was totalled. I put it in my new cab for luck.

Unless you plan on club racing in a stock class, where you'll be required to have the carpet in place.

Gents,

Which is easiest to install? Which does the least amount of harm to the car (drilling holes) and the like. For my edification the OEM part # provided is for the RSR brace? Joe mentions a BK brace, who is that? Lastly who carries Tech Art products?

TechArt can be found at GermanTech in Largo FL ... www.germantech.com

They are easy to install; they bolt onto the shock towers using the existing bolts, no drilling required.

None mentioned require holes - all mount to the strut bolts easily.
