Hi There,

Has anyone replaced the rear vision mirror housing only? My mirror (1994 993 C2 6spd) is showing signs of age (silver backing is starting to lift giving a dark patch around the edge).

Instead of going to the trouble of having to remove and re glue an entire new unit (alot of work and mess) I was hoping to simply remove the mirror housing from the ball joint it is attached to that mounts on the windo and replace with a new unit.

Has anyone done this - or accidently removed the mirror from the ball joint? I want to know of the mirror "snaps off" without damage and if it can the "snap" back on?

Help would be much appreciated before I buggar things up!
