Inexpensive indoor cover?
As the car sits in public garage for the winter and my old cover is pretty much destroyed, I'm looking for a basic car cover to use. Does anyone have experience with this:
or similar covers? I asked the manufacturer via email and they say it's universal, but designed for a 170" car and should fit a 168" 993 perfectly. Any other suggestions?
I was able to get a semi custom fit for mine that fits the rear wing from covercraft and from all places Autozone and I want to say it was <~$200. They had a sale on covers and could order anything from them and it still applied. I went with the Block it version, read thickest material. Its rated for indoor/outdoor, but I was after the thicker material for people walking by in the garage. HTH.
That's what I'm thinking - inexpensive enough to throw away if needed. However, last year I got a call from the garage management about the cover being blown off (it was a 997 OEM cover, actually, but 997 is, apparently, much longer, so not a great fit). Not pleasant when you're 1,500 miles away and don't have a way to deal with it.
Will check Autozone and a few other places, thanks!

Autozone, Pep Boys , Walmart and Amazon do not make car covers. Talk to the people that actually make the things. Covercraft and California Car cover are the real manufacturers. The materials used are tied up by patents and licenses to Covercraft. Call Cal car cover or Covercraft for a discussion on the many materials that actually work. The term "only need a dust cover for indoor use" means you need to dig into this more if you are serious. A real dustproof cover is very thick and a typical bedsheet or the Chinese cotton fleece covers sold every where actually pass dust through them at an alarming rate and then causes scratches. Spend a few bucks more and call California Car Cover and do the right thing. It is not that much money especially since the $200 junk ones are short term junk. Kinda like opting for $6 unknown brand spark plugs rather than $ 12 for the Bosch ones that you know will work. It ain't that much money.
my covercraft that was bought through Auto zone is a 4 layer kimberly clark product. looks like they have a 5 layer avail on their site now for indoor use. Their pattern does fit fairly tight to the car when put on, but has a more relaxed jean fit vs. the slim jeans fit. It does have protected fleece grommets that could also help with the wind issue you had on the other cover.
interesting that the outdoor is less than the indoor version.

1997 Porsche 911 5-Layer Softback All Climate Custom Car Cover @ ~$240 before any site coupons that are readily available.
I have a 993 Carnewal cover with the Porsche emblem you can have. It's for an Aerokit car but should fit your cab fine. It has a couple moth-eaten spots that could be easily patched, but other than that it's in good condition. You can have it for $50, shipping included. If interested, let me know and I'll get a few pics for you.

Thank you all. I ordered a cover on Amazon for now.
As an aside... I store my cars for 6 months at a time both in MA and in FL. Used cheap Budge cover, expensive Covercraft cover, OEM 997 cover. All worked equally well for what I need. Of course, I'm absolutely non-**** about how the car looks and, specifically my 993's body needs work and paint anyway. I just wanted something that doesn't let it get way too dirty and keeps it mostly out of sight in a pubic garage. Personally, I find comparing car covers to spark plugs bizarre. And, as an aside, will use anything before settling on Bosch components, but that's another discussion (and, yes I use Bosch plugs in my 993 but not in any other car).
