It's a brave and beautiful color . It wouldn't be the #1 pic here in conservative Wash DC, but in California or Florida, I could see it being very HOT!
Go for it...

I came across your website back then and fell in love with your car. You have since removed the webpage and I see that is now up again.
Riviera Blue and its cousin Turquois Blue are hands down my two favorite 993 colors and I will one day own one - thats for sure. I remember in the old 993 commercials when they ran the one with the colors - that color was the Jelly Bean car in the commercial - hence the jelly bean blue color reference.
I love it and hope you buy the car. Buy the car you want, not what car you think some Joe is going to like in 4 years. Who cares about that Joe. If you like it, buy it, if you don't, then don't buy it.

DJF1,
Yep. I had the car on Ebay a few times now. No serious takers. I run hot and cold on selling my baby depending on how secure my income seems to be on that day. The IT biz is not all it once was.

Maybe some advice here. A year ago last January I bought a used '01 M3 w/5K on it in Laguna Seca Blue for just under $47K. This car retailed for $53K. Before I bought my C4S I sold my M3 for $44,500 and it had 15K miles on it. I thought it was a little bit of a hit to sell it for roughly $2,500 less than what I bought it for w/ only 10K additional miles. I had it up for sale for over 4 months before I sold it. I dont know if it was the color or the motor issue that prevented me from selling it sooner. I do feel that I would have recieved a few more inquiries if it was a common car color.

You guys are great with responses! I really like the color and it's actually Blue Turqoise according to window sticker. This is the option list: am/fm cd player
painted rims ext color
logo p-car floor mats
s/s exhaust
motor sound
metal door sills w/insignia
sport chassis ???-does it have special susp.
racing style sport seats
on board computer
remote 6 CD changer
sticker was $80,992. This seems like a great deal to me. Should I have another shop do the PPI or the dealer. It was traded for a Turbo 993 and is in mint shape according to dealer.

Here's my 2pennies
First, decide if you are buying the car for you or for the next guy in line. Then;
If it's for you and you like the color buy and DRIVE it and ENJOY it. Don't worry about the next buyer.
If you're only going to use it now and then and want to keep the resale valuse very high so you can recoup all or most of you money back don't get it. You will have a limited market reslling a car in that color.
Make the first choice, the rest is easy...

I agree with the people's comments on here. Get a color YOU like. YOU will be driving it and YOU will be looking at it everyday when you walk into the garage.
If you are considering selling it later on, as other people have said, keep in mind that the color may not be what the general public will like. That will affect resale. That is "standard" colors sell fairly consistently, like black, silver, red, etc., since they are not out there too much.
But still buy what YOU like.

I agree with Danny. When you go to sell it, call me first, it might be time for me to get another 993. And I will only pay the market value of a RIV BLUE car.

Here is an absolutely gorgeous Riviera Blue 993 RS -- Riviera Blue 993 RS I would kill to have that car, sure wish importing/federalizing was easier.
