Default Updating the HWFM Racing Team Roster after Le Mans – Is your name on this list?

Here’s the icing on the Le Mans sponsorship cake.

Anyone who contributed who was not already a member of HWFM Racing, is offered membership as promised.

So thanks to your generous contributions to the effort, you can be on the team without having to go through the humiliating application process, the cyber hazing, the revealing of your most embarrassing on track exploits, the paddling from Mother Superior and the faxing of beer to our Old Fart Emeritus.

You just have to agree to abide by our team’s rigorous set of rules, as found here -- http://www.heywaitformeracing.com/ww3.htm

If your name is on this list, respond here with what you’d like your team roster name and function to be, and why that function. You can see the functions that have already been filled here - http://www.heywaitformeracing.com/roster.htm

Any squabbles will be resolved by myself, with the assist of the executive committee and our Legal Counsel, the Dan Quintets.

Our dedicated and able First Mate and Team Registrar, Danny, will update the list, and Team Hero and Webmaster Princeton will add it to the official roster, both at a HWFM pace of course.

We may have gotten a few duplicates as the e-mails, posts, and paypal payments were flying as fast as a GT3 RSR down the Mulsanne, and some teammates I only know as post names, so please forgive those inconsistencies.

And welcome to the team.

Hi Mike,

thanks again for putting all of this together. I will think about my official HWFMR name and, following the official rules (at least as far as I know them), fax through some GERMAN Beer.

How much money did we all raise for TRG?

Cheers and thanks again for the opportunity,

Chris

Hello Mike,

FastMaz here! Thanks for your efforts in putting all of this together. I would like to apply for the position of HWFM Racing official "Helmet Dryer".

As we all know this is an essential position. Nothing worse than putting on a helmet after a couple of sessions that is wet and smells like an old sneaker. This malady has been verified as the primary cause of "Helmet Hair".

My best to all!

Kim

that is not the full contributors list. Just a quick (I know - hard to believe) edit, and I missed a few obviously.

Maz
Helmet Dryer it is. Judging by your avatars, you may also be able to apprentice under our Grid Girl Procurer. I don't know if you have skill, but you seem to have the desire.

After seeing his avatars, I wonder which helmet is he talking about? ; )

Mike (and John D.):

As others have said, thanks for the opportunity to be a part of this. Every time I turn on Speed TV to catch an ALMS or other sports car race, my wife, who has little interest in car racing (yet), now asks me how "my" car is doing. Anything I can do to ease her into an appreciation of motorsports is a good thing in my book, and it's been a blast for me.

For the record, I have applied for the position of Official Waterboy (see this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hreadid=139868), which I'm grateful to say has been seconded by several HWFMR luminaries.

I wish groups like this existed for other cars I have owned. In the short time I've been a Porsche owner and Rennlist groupie, I have learned a ton. I have also glimpsed the edge of that slippery and apparently very steep slope ... treacherous footing there!

Cheers, and thanks, to all.

P.S. Steve, I don't have a fax machine. Can I just e-mail the beers to you?

Hi Mike,

I also appreciate the opportunity to join the HWFM Racing group. I respectfully apply for the position of Third Coast liaison / team greeter. Since I will probably be the oldest of the group, team greeter somehow seems appropriate.

You guys did a a hell of a job with this thing. Very impressive piece of work.

Mike, ditto again to you and John for putting this together. It was a blast participating. But as the team banker I'm afraid I'm going to have to assess a late charge for also not being included on the team roster. Since being slow is part of the HWFM creed I can waive it if you can include me on the roster. Mick

Thanks! Sounds good.
I feel my title should reflect something rather kick-back such as Team Spectator or Team Slacker.

Default Hi Mike

Since there isn't a nonperformance enhancement mod that I won't at least look at, much less try, "Pimp My Ride Associate" is definitely for me. My driving is truly a fine example of "all show and no go".

oh yeah, since I'm a little slow to the punch I should also point out that any real performance modifications I do add are completely nullified by a highly inept driving style.

Dave,

What? No fax machine? I can't understand how Mike allowed you to squeeze in, even under this relaxed rule-set. But wait... I see you live in nearby Glendale. Close enough for a couple of Arena red/Classic gray buddies to get together and hoist a few. Bring your Visa card.

Chris,

When you fax German beer, I believe you need to pay the import duty. But I'm looking forward to it. I believe I was drinking "Weiss Bier" or something close, when I was recently found in a gutter in Munich. Ahhh... fond memories.

Mike,

Inquiring minds want to know: how much did we raise for TRG?

Steve:

It's a deal, but may I bring my Mastercard instead? I think it fits the situation better:

Fulfilling boyhood dream of owning a Porsche: $35K (or somewhere thereabouts)
Joining Rennlist and sponsoring a Le Mans racer: $60
Inadvertently discovering an entire community of cool people who share your passion for Porsches: priceless.
