How much would you pay for a road legal version here in the US...?

On the open market in Asia, they have traded in the last 2 years between 40-60 thousand pounds. (cuz thats where most had ended up going)

bear in mind the ones i mentioned are part of the more limited right hand driver versions which are worth more in the commonwealth countries.

There are 3 left in Singapore, one of the original 4 now resides in New Zealand.

Just a comparison in value, the left hookers seem to be in larger supply thus you may get an idea from there.

Here in Europe there are only a few available. We got one last January and it has already increased in value.

Fongster is right, they are getting expensive. There were only 1019 made... compare that with the CGT at 1500 and you get the picture.

If you look at this thread for instance, only about 5 are bona fide.. the rest are fakes.

As you know, real RS cars are not DOT or EPA legal in the States. I only know of a couple of genuine 993 RSs in the country and they are not streetable. I can tell you what it costs to take a 993 and make a near-perfect RS Clubsport clone with factory parts--easily double what a Euro car costs. (Sound of hand slapping face, whap! whap! "When will you ever learn?..." )

A 1995 Carrera RS basic can be made street legal in the USA - and it has been done following the standard EPA procedures. Also, the 1995 Carrera RS is on the EPA list as a car that has been allowed under "show and display" provisions if you are willing to drive it less than 2500 miles per year.

Now, the club sport or Cup version is another matter. That would be imported as a racing car only for off-road use. And it would never be allowed to be titled under severe penalty.

With current exchange rate of about 1,20 $/€ you would be looking at roughly $80k to buy one in Germany (www.mobile.de).

Not only that they are expensive, they are also really hard to find. I live in Europe and have been looking for an RS for a long time. 90% of the cars have some type of modification, stock versions seems to getting more and more rare. If you don't mind, try to get a 964 RS instead, it's a bit more common.

Two weeks ago, (while trying to help Rassel find his dream... I found a 964 RS Clubsport 3.8.

Only very few were made and they are collector items but the price was Euros 80K.

RS' s are scarce and therefore more expensive. Mine has increased about 10% since purchase last Jan.

Europeans are quite smart, we keep the best wines and cars for ourselves.

I am not an expert, but just happened to see an advertised RS here in Japan right before I read this thread.





Again, I don't know if this is the real thing, just saying that it is advertised as an 1995 Carrera RS. Price is 6.5 million yen (about 60K in US$).

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Sorry to disappoint you but the car you outlined is not an RS.

It appears to have been modded to resemble a GT2 with it's added (riveted) wide flare fenders.

However, if it is an original GT2 at $60k JUMP now. Most GT2's sell for $150k to 170K

After another look, I am absolutely certain it is not a GT2. It is not TC'ed.

You're not disappointing me. That's why I mentioned explicitely I don't know what this thing is (and I don't care), just saw it advertised as a Carrera RS.
By the way, I meant it as a joke when I said to let me know if anyone is interested (-> smiley)...
