S02's vs S03's
Toyo will be coming out with new sizes for their RA1 track tire. My guess is this will now be the tire used in the Speedvision(SpeedChannel) World Challenge. It comes with 8/32 of tread and it wears like iron, I know guys that can get several thousand track miles on a set. Best part is the proposed prices on these in 18" sizes are under $200! There will be 245/285/305 sizes.

Greg,
When? We've been hearing about new tires from Michelin, Kumho, Pirelli, etc. for a year now, and none (save the Michelin, in almost no sizes) have materialized.
I need tires.
FWIW,
I have about 6-7K mi on a set of S-03s after having gone through several sets (rear) of S-02s. I initially felt the 03s were less stiff and precise than my 02s, but after having increased the pressure up to 36f/38r (up 2# from pressures I used on the 02s), some of that seemed to go away. I am sure I have also gotten used to the tires, but they are still plenty (too) fast on the street. I just did a track day at Buttonwillow, and the tires seemed pretty much in line with what the 02s were able to do. What did make me happy was the tires seemed to have MUCH less wear after a track day than the 02s used to have. After having driven hard on these tires, although they are lacking true upper-end grip, they are a pretty good compromise, given what I think I will get out of them mileage-wise. That being said, I still can't wait for 18" Victoracers to come out
