Question RS LSD

I got a G50/21 box which I want to mount on the race car. Problem is that it did not come with LSD. Instead of putting the crappy factory standard I'm looking to buy a factory Motorsports one and mount it. I have through the PET the part number for the RS lsd. Is this the same as the "motorsports' one? In not doesn't anyone have the part number for it? Should there be any problems mounting it to the "stock" box?

Regarding getting an aftermarket one it would be a problem with PCA rules and the "stock class" so there are not many options there...

TIA

I was talking to Steve last night! You are going to have a mean yellow bus I'm green with envy

I'm trying to source the piece used from Europe to save a few bucks if possible... or get it new from Steve. Steve told me about it and pricing, but I did not clarify these questions and I really do not want to bother him during the weekend, but time is of the essence for me...
He is putting me in a world of financial trouble with the ERP monoball stuff. Damn 993 with so many links to upgrade

LOL,....I've been accused of that by others; you are in some very good company,....

My computer is down so I cannot look that up for you to confirm part numbers. Just an FYI: the RSR LSD is 950.332.083.30.

If you or others have the PET, you can compare the numbers between the stock 993 LSD and the Carrera 3.8 RS ones.

If I can get my g-damn computer functioning again, I'll confirm that on Monday.

Thanks Steve, I got the part number from my PET for the RS box. I was not really sure if it was the same as the one we were talking over the phone...

Oh Danny. You are really going to like the G50/21 !

Which beastie is it going in, the queen or the meister ???

3rd - 5th is just darn fun with the G50/21.

Let me know how the differential goes. As you might have read, Steve had to do some magic on mine. I am still learning how to use the better lock up on my turn entrances. Fun, fun, fun...

Too bad you arn;t out here to join us on these backroads get toghethers....

Regards

Is the part number for the Motorsport 993 RS differential 950.332.083.31 or 950.332.083.30? I can't find a differential with part number ending in .30 anywhere in my parts database.

The differential with the .31 ending is a 40/65 variable bias ratio differential for the G50 31/32/33 RS gearbox series.

Since my computer is toast, I'm locked out of everything but I sourced that number from the Factory 3.8 RSR manuals. The .30 & .31 items should be the same, only a later version.

You might like to know that there were two makes of LSD used in the RS (possibly why there are two part numbers).

I believe the earlier cars ran with a GKN unit (as mine does).

One difference between them is that the diff pack to refurbish the GKN unit cost circa 900 UKP plus labour, and the later unit (don't what make it was) circa 150 UKP.

The GKN diff pack part number is 950.332.083.31 (or at least that's the part number on the invoice when I had mine repaired).

Don't know whether that helps at all.

950.332.083.30 is superseded by the LSD of the 2002 996 GT3-RS.
