Default Ebay... This must be a scam... $34,000 TT

Here is this Riviera Blue TT on ebay for $34,000. It must be a scam. Is this the same seller that was attempting to sell it in the past? Sure is a ballsy scam if in fact it is. I have dibs on it if it's for real! LOL.... when can I come pick it up? I wonder why it says it's the only Riviera Blue in the US when it is actually in BC?

I saw it earlier and I thought since I am in Canada, no problem to check it out.

Sent an e-mail and this is what I got.

All I can say is what a jack-***! Here is the e-mail I received back:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,
First you have to know that the car is available on eBay but the bidding/buing is restricted, the reason for that is I had too mnay problems in the past with non-paying bidders so first I will need a proof of your seriousity and that you are
available to pay anytime so you need is to be agree with my condition stated below and the car will be yours.
The price includes shipping and insurance fees.
1.SHIPMENT:I am currently located in Italy and the car will be shipped from here by sea with the cargo ship in a container to
your nearest port so for that I ask you to locate your nearest port with sea access and let me know which one is it, the
usualy transit time for such a transportation is 7-8 days, a deposit of 999$ must be sent prior to shipping.
2. PAYMENT:
I'm a serious seller with experience in this field. I'm a fair trader with a good feedback on eBay which is the proof that l
have closed a lot of successful deals.
You wil l arrange payment through wired transfer (www.westernunion.com).
All you have to do is go to www.westernunion.com and find an local agent near you were you have to go and send the funds or
you can send the deposit online with your credit card at www.westernunion.com
3.INSURANCE
The car will be insured at the delivery service and insured for the transport.
4.RETURN POLICY
As soon as the car arrives, you will test the car and if it does not matches 100% to your expectations, you will return it in
max. 7 days since the arrival date. In this case I will send you the full amount back and you will send me the car in the
original container and you don't have to pay the return shipping and insurance.
5.In the 7 days inspection perioud you decide to buy the car send the remainig balance and our deal will be completed.
If this will be ok with you just email back with your info and tell me what info you need more about the car and the
transaction and you will have it.
There will be some paperwork to take care of prior to shipping and that is the bill of sale and the odometer discosure
statement and for that I will need your name and address.

Sincerely hope to do the transaction.

Total scam... Lots of information on the web about these types of scams; quite a few people have actually lost money this way, believe it or not... You'll find them on eBay and AutoTrader... Some of them will try and fool you into using a 'reputable' escrow service; don't fall for it.

Like the saying goes, 'If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is...'

Trust me, stay as far away from it as possible.

Here's an article to read about it: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3078503/

A scam... no question. Look at the previous items he has sold to get feedback... all nickle and dime stuff. Send him your money, and its gone. I can almost guarantee he doesn't have this car. I'm surprised that eBay hasn't squashed this by now.

Arrow Wait Guys....Give him a chance...

No need to see the actual car. I'm sure it's all he says it is and more and frankly I'm intersted in discussing the matter in person with the seller and I'll bring payment in full. Now about our meeting place...there is an alley way that crosses the area under the freeway near a vacant lot and a closed car wash. There will be a guy there waiting with the check near a Navy blue Toureg. (That's me.). Do not play games here and come alone. I've been looking for this color and deal on a TT for three (3) weeks now and I don't want a Gringo like you messing it up. The code word will be "Mobile One". After this lay the keys on the grtound and run. You will receive payment in full within 12 days or I'll pay double the price and throw in a slightly high mileage Ford Escort with ground effects and fresh primer. Keep this deal very quiet.

That car was has been on eBay a number of times and the seller is located in the LA area. I contacted him to see if I could see the car in person and he wrote back something like "No problem, but first I need to speak to your banker to make sure you have the funds to buy the car...." Uh...yeah, right...

WATCH MY 6: Thanks for link to MSNBC article. Good reminder for those looking at 993s on the internet. I negotiated for a '98 C2S last year with someone who might have been a scammer, not positive though. It is imperative that buyers do a lot of checking on a car before buying, including actually seeing the car unless you are an experienced importer. In my deal, I insisted on seeing a copy of the current title and learned the car was not even titled in the seller's name and had a bank lien. Prior to that, the seller insisted that I send him $5K as a deposit. I told him that I would deposit $5k in an escrow account at a mutually agreed upon bank but would not agree to pay him anything until I had a PPI done at a Porsche dealer and had seen his C2S for myself. The deal fell apart after I sent him a 5-page purchase agreement with indemnification provisions, a detailed escrow arrangement and express warranties about his car. You cannot be too cautious. I ended up buying a '98 C4S from a lawyer in Florida. It was easy to check up on him and therefore started off with a good rep. Nothing "fishy" about our negotiations. If it smells bad, find out why and don't let your enthusiasm get the better of you.

For $34,000 I will fly to Italy and ship it back myself. I noticed this item is gone or no longer available. Why doesn't Ebay get rid of these people it is a total scam in every possible way.
