I thought RUF rims were heavy?
I quite fancied a set of these for my recently acquired C2, but was put off by the comments about them being heavy, this came from their website, and the weights don’t look too bad, am I missing something?

Advanced
Here is a list of wheel weights for comparison.....Given the relative modest power output of our cars the weight difference is really noticeable.

I’ve had RUFs on 2 993’s and didn’t notice any difference in street driving. Maybe you can feel it on a track…

Here's a table I saved from an old Rennlist post a while back (both lbs and kg). The weights on the RUFs don't match what's shown on their website though.

Meh…if you like them, then get them. A few pounds won’t make a difference. Heck RUF ran the wheels on the Turbo R, the RCT and the 964 BTR….something tells me you’ll be okay!

And they weigh less or the same than the speed lines that porsche put on their performance RS…

5# per wheel differences in weights comes to only ~1.6 lb-ft per axle in torque difference, I doubt that any anyone can feel that difference in linear acceleration
However the vertical wheel motion differences over potholes and such can surely be discerned

If you really want light weight rims get OZ Alleggerita 8.5/10x18"
if you want a good look and slightly lighter wheels get BBS E88 (9.3/9.5 kg).
If you want super light wheels and a good look, try to get special edition Manthey BBS in Magnesia. with 7.2/7.8 kg for 9/11x18"
Good luck on finding them ... anf if ... in financing them

I ran RUFs on my C2 for a few years and didn’t notice any difference in handling than my MY02s which are considerably lighter. I loved the RUFs but was just ready for a different look. At the end of the day, it’s a dream car, so put whatever you like on it. Besides nothing is permanent and a few pounds makes no difference for street driving.

I love the OZ wheels on my hot rod build. Not traditional, but -40lbs of unsprung weight against the RSR wheels is a ton. MIne is set up for fast road, so not as stiff or low as many on here. I love how agile it is and how well it absorbs bumpy roads.

I like the OZ wheels too. I am definitely in the minority on the MY 02's and the RUF's. Don't care for them at all.

For me, the RUF rims are some of the worst you can put on a car ... but that's just me, as everybody has the absolute right of his own opinion
