Thank you so much for the kind words. You will be the first person I call should I decide to sell, which I do not plan on for some time. However, I have a pretty bad track record as I had my 964 cab for a year before I bought the 993 C4S which I had for a year before I bought the 993TT! At this rate, I'll be looking to sell January 05!

Nah, I think you have hit the pinnacle, Addison. I forsee a 997 GT3 in your future. Thanks for the compliments Alex. It's not so shiny today; I had to leave it outside overnight and it was drenched by the damn sprinklers!

I have heard great things about all of these waxes. But if your looking for a poll, I like to use P21S wax and cleaner. I love the feel and look they leave on my red cars. Best wishes - Jay Gratton

WHOA! I need to get my car looking like that. Too bad I have to drive it in the rain. You have a beautiful car; MB looks so pretty when it is clean. On the other hand, it looks like crap when dirty at all.

Hey Mark and Forest,
Thanks!
Mark, before I moved to Manhattan a year ago I lived in Buckhead . . . I'm guessing not too far from you. My car was a year-round daily driver too until I moved . . . so I know what you mean about the midnight blue.
Forest, these pictures were taken after my 1 1/2 day annual major car cleaning that happens usually over Thanksgiving or Christmas. Closely follow the instructions for the Zaino and you won't be disappointed. In my opinion, what really makes a difference is using a random orbital buffer with polish before the Zaino to get a great surface . . . and also using microfiber towels.
My process was something like this:
Dawn wash, quick dry, Zaino clay, Zaino wash, dry, 3M Swirl Mark Remover with RO buffer, remove 3M SMR with RO buffer, Dawn wash, Z1 (lost my ZFX in the move!) then Z5 on top, Z6, Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6, Z2, Z6. All washing, drying, and Zaino removal is done with microfiber towels.
It sounds like total insanity, but it's really not that bad. And honestly, the incremental improvements after the first couple layers of Zaino don't make that much of a difference. And I've thrown on a layer or two of Zaino by itself throughout the year and been happy with the results.
The 1 1/2 day total is probably a satisfying 8 solid hours of work. The lengthy part is the clay and the SMR . . . be prepared for some scratch removal if you use the clay. I've clayed twice and, despite being really careful and using lots of lube, both times I've picked up a piece of grit and made some ugly patterns on a panel. However, that comes right out with the SMR. And of course, be really careful if you use an RO buffer . . . very easy to go through the paint on fender edges.
After that, it's all down hill with the Zaino . . . each layer of Z2 and Z5 take 30-45 minutes to put on and take off. The Z6 is 5+ minutes of spray on and immediate rub off. And once you get into the Z5/Z2 part it's tempting to keep layering on the Zaino because it's so easy and satisfying to put on and take off that it's hard to stop.
As others have commented before on Zaino, who the hell knows what's in it, but whatever it is it seems to work well.
Hope both of you enjoy the long weekend!
Thanks!
