Looking for a set of reasonably priced polished or chromed exhaust tips for '96 993 narrow body. Would also consider OEM set.

Gert Carnewal has the motorsound chromed tips at about $125, Motorsound exhaust tips for narrow body.
Always gives excellent service.

Heres a cheaper alternative,
Take off the factor standard tips (as I did from my 1994 993), run them down to a metal polishing shop and have them professionally cleaned (dipped) and polished. You will be amazed - mine came back looking chome! Everyone in the porsche club was so impressed they ran down and had theirs done!!
Seriously - the OEM oval '94 tips are nicely made they just tarnish quickly - dipping and polishing turns them into mirrors and you can even have them lacquered so they never tarnish again - all for $5 USD per tip!!!
Cheers

FWIW, I had my stock tips chromed not quite one year ago and they look as good now as when I got them back from the platers (paid about $60-70 if I remember correctly).

There is a difference between the narrow body and wide body tips, the wide body tips WILL NOT FIT A NARROW BODY! As was posted above, I suggest a set of chrome narrow body tips from Gert at http://www.carnewal.com *** And while you are on the web site, shop around. I did and found myself buying 993RS side skirts, 993RS front splitters, a Turbo S oil cooler, a battery charger, a front protection plate, some switches... The prices are great and the service incredible.

Maurice,
May I ask what metal polish you used to clean the tips. Halfords didnt have anything and Homebase had Brasso which I thought may not be appropriate.
Thanks.

Thanks again to the board. I have ordered a set of narrow body tips from Carnewal.com along with alum shifter and brake kit. Great info from all. I have used the PS polish in the past. It works great. 1 Grand is also good but still requires some elbow grease.
Regards to all, Steve
