Motor Mount Removal - hood release cable issue
Removed and replaced the (US) passenger side of my 1995 convertible motor mount no problem.
However, I’m unable to remove the drivers side mount easily because of the very rigid hood release cable, not the ac lines on my car (which are routed over the engine for some reason).
I have not seen this problem documented so am I missing something? Removing rigid cable seems challenging so I’m looking for another route if possible.

I'm not sure I see the problem. Seems easy enough with a ratchet and a 3" extension.

I just did this a few days ago. I didn't have to touch the hood release cable (and I had AC lines in the way) ..... Can you point out what the issue is?

When I try to lift the mount out, the cable stops upward movement before the base bolt clears the hole. I’ve tried rotating and still can’t find an angle to remove it.

Is the engine supported with a jack? Can you lower the engine a little bit and try again? I remember mine came out so easily - I was surprised. Not trying to gloat --- just saying that no, you aren't missing anything.....

Raised/lowered etc the engine and could not get it out. Here's a video of the mount hitting the hard (metal) conduit for the hood release cable.

Never mind - I got mad - and put a whole lot of muscle into it and it forced the metal tube to bend just enough. All is fine now. Thanks for the help.

EDIT - I saw you got it out! Good job!

FWIW I just had a look at my hood release cable conduit. It is significantly less straight than yours. Perhaps you can put some bends in yours so that you so not run into this problem in the future.

Yes, happened to me:
Brute force got it out and replacement back in. The tube is really strong and difficult to bend or move. The cars seem to vary in the placement of the tube (and I think the Varioram's are worst) unfortunately.
