Are All Manual Narrow Body 993 Coupes Worth at Least $90k Now?
#16
I have been in the market for a clean, well-maintained 993 with under 50-60 miles for a few months. I regret not pulling the trigger on two clean examples, as I initially thought they were priced too high. However, it seems well-sorted examples of NB coupes and Targas are north of $100K. I am buying a 993 Targa from a private seller that would not come off their asking price. Part of me feels like I am overpaying, but I know once I get behind the wheel, that feeling will fade (I hope)!!
A new listing on Pcarmarket's auction site today is of the same car that failed to reach the reserve price with a final bid of $126K a few weeks ago on BAT. I am very interested to see where this one ends up...
Had I kept my 964 C4, I would have saved myself plenty... how I miss that car!

Anyone been following the Targa pricing know how those have been trending and comparing to coupes? I know coupes are more desirable but seems like Targas have jumped the cabs and aren’t far behind coupe pricing these days.

my NB manual coupe has 165k+ miles and i wouldn't sell it for 100k
these are all great cars, if you find something pretty close to what you want don't let a few thousand bucks get in the way of your ownership.

targas are not selling like coupes in value. Falls between a cab and coupe. But more towards the cab prices.

Rant: The whole idea about miles being directly correlated to value has been a huge pet peeve of mine in the resale market, it is largely psychological. I've seen 25k mile 911's in far worse condition than well maintained 100k mile examples. Mileage also becomes less relevant as the car ages, especially when you get into TMU territory. I'll disclose that I have a 106k mile 993 C2 that is in great shape.

I looked up prices in Germany, there is not really any 993 offered under EURO 72 K, no matter what the mileage is. It seems like there is a little premium for the C4 NB cars.
That would be a starting price of approx. US $ 80 K.

Is this the 993 you’re talking about?
If so there are plenty reasons why it hasn’t sold at $80k and wouldn’t be a good barometer of price: it’s highly-modified with personal tastes, paired with high mileage (no rebuild mentioned), and 4 ACCIDENTS?! It does not command a premium at all in any market.
What are the specs of yours? Would give us a better idea of what would be a fair asking.
