Pictures from VIR this weekend
Had a big convoy of both trailered and street porsches yesterday, from here in VA Beach, all the way to VIR(Virginia International Raceway/to me the most beautiful road course) for the First Settler's Region DE. What a blast!! Ray, Dan and I, all tagged along with the Eurosport boys towing their trailers with track toys on them. It was a long caravan to maintain in rush hour traffic, but we did it. The biggest challenge was driving fast cars through highway 58 without getting speeding tickets. We managed! That took a lot of restraining in our part. We were good law abiding citizens/drivers. For those of you who are not familiar with Hwy 58, it has been talked about that it is the most patrolled highway in the east coast. They said that the fines they collect from the speeding violations alone is a major source of city funds for the counties that lucky enough to maintain it. Cops were just swarming everywhere, specially on our drive back. I think we had more fun on the back country twisties near VIR, as Reverend Ray said it. That first track morning, while driving to VIR from our hotel, there was this Audi TT that suddenly realized that there were 3 carreras behind him, but with good safe distance, but I guess when he saw us coming out of the morning mist from his rearview mirror, I guess he felt the peer pressure 3 pairs carrera headlights and just started flooring it. I know he was shaking his head, wondering why no matter how much he tried to leave us, the silhoutte of three 911s in his rear view mirror never got smaller, but bigger
As ussual, It's a 3 day event but Ray and I drove the four hour trip Thursday and came back Friday(late afternoon). Yup, just one day, we know it's well worth it to be with friends, porschephiles and their beautiful cars. Camaraderie at its best. Lot's of wonderful people. A couple of them were senior husband and wife team. He is in his mid seventies but drives his red 996 the way it's supposed to be driven. I was so envious and realized that I need to move out of the green group His wife is the most knowledgeable female racing enthusiasts I have ever met. I need to bring my wife and have her tag-along with her so my wife could become a great supporter of this wonderful hobby, both financially and morally
Anyway's nuf with the stories. Here are the pix:

Anir, Thanks. I know what you mean on those long drives. I would like to have an alluminum trailer (like Mark of Baltimore) so I could save that hours of drive wear on the car myself.
Mark, Thanks dude. Where are you this weekend? Your playmates are all looking for you at the track(VIR).

Surj & Mike, Thanks. I have sensory over load every time I'm in events like this. Just not enough time in a day.
Mark, Is that the same as marrying a contorsionist or a ballet dancer? Can't have have enough talent to satisfy them
