Default Ruf ctr-2

I'm surprised no one has commented on the Ruf CTR-2 that sold on ebay for $96,100. More than I would (could) pay, but a pretty steep price drop considering they are $280,000 new. I really like the way the rear opens and the intercooler location is interesting.

Nice car.

Anyone know If running two separate and smaller I/Cs as RUF does improve the cooling vs a stock one? I guess it should if they do it, however I cannot seem to understand how unless there is some kind of ram charge effect and ducts blowing more air on the cores. What exactly is that piece sitting on top of the TB and how does it operate?

I Might consider doing something similar since I am changing the rear quarters and tail. I also have the same RUF bumpers but I was going to change them for a GT2 look.
Thanks

Awesome ride! I'd much rather spend $96k on this one than for example used 996 TT.

Jean,

That piece is air intake and yes, that spoiler directs are into the I/Cs where air then gets out through those vent on rear bumper.
996 TT has similar I/C set-up btw.

FF,

Thanks for your input, I wish I could find a diagram somewhere to see the whole setup.

Piece of art, the red intake manifolds, are stunning, they must be aluminum rather than the stock plastic ones, although plastic flows better..

This car has one lucky owner who should drive it with the rear lid open!

Thanks for posting it Greg.

Correction, I forgot it is a N/A conversion hence the aluminum manifolds and narrow body for better top speed. I guess they must be extrude honed at a minimum..

Is that rear spoiler truly and effectively functional or just for looks?

I saw that too. Even entered it into my watchlist. In all black, it is one mean-looking ride. Much better deal than a 996TT, too.

Did the car get sold?!? When I saw it last year I was told the owner wanted $150-160 for it.

For $96 I would have found some way to buy it

Mark, I would guess since the spoiler goes all the way to the top of the rear fender where the I/Cs are located, that it should have some kind of air intake duct there ala GT2 wing but more elaborate.

This or a 996TT? would not trade it even for a GT2 or GT3 unless it is only intended for track usage. This is unique.

Here is the auction link, if you are interested: RUF

By the way, this was the second time around for the car. It did not meet reserve at about $90K the first time.
