Default Carbon Fiber dash install complete, new trim rings

I finally finishded up the carbon fiber dash install, the last thing was the
aluminum trim rings for the instrument panel. I got them from an ebay auction through The Drivers Corner, 89.00. Not bad and they are made very nicely from billet. Good fit and easy install.
I wanted to use them because my car has the leather surround on the gauge package and the brown leather looked a little odd against the
carbon fiber. I did not want to remove the leather so chose these
rings as they fit over the leather with no problem. I used a silicone
adhesive so they could be remove in the future and the leather would
not be destroyed.
All and all, a pretty simple install, hopefully the kits will become available again as they really fit well and look good.

Where did you get the kit? Is it a stick on or is it OEM?

I got lucky on the kit, it's OEM, my dealer got it on a return and I grabbed it.
He's searching for other kits but no having any luck.
After installing this one, I'd never consider the stick-ons.

I generally am not a fan of too much trim in the 993 cabin, but I have always loved the look of the genuine Porsche CF stuff. I take it that these kits are NLA? If anybody can tell me more, or is aware of a source, please let me know....

Looks nice.

But not for me; prefer my P totally stock.

Just a suggestion... have you considered replacing the "dated" steering wheel with a 3 spoke unit?

That would look cool.

Hello Bob D,

Two ankle operations done, two more to go...Appreciate your good health!

My mother in law underwent this type of surg; you deserve many good vibes. Get well soon.. heel and toe is not very easy without ankles.

Looks very good! If I knew how long I gonna stay in Spore I would spring into action and change certain things on my car... but as long as that issue is not solved I got to keep it stock...

Central Coast,

A new 993 (4 spoke) factory full black leather with CF steering wheel would look very sweet and complete your custom CF upgrade. Call Sunset Porsche in Portland, OR. They may be able to get it for you at dealer cost + 15%. They have the best prices with very reasonable shipping and are a Rennlist sponsor.

I agree on the steering wheel. It now needs either a 4 spoke carbon fiber
or a 996 3 spoke. I'm on the lookout for both, have to admit I really like the 3 spoke look. Expensive though....

Hello Bruce,

I have a carbon fiber four-spoke wheel with some flaws in it. (forgot all about it!)
Dirt cheap to a good home.

I have it in storage, but am pretty sure I have a picture or two of it on my computer.

Check your PM box for a picture in a few minutes.
