Default Help identifying a part

Tried using the search function and also couldn't find the correct part in the PET....can someone help with a part number? This looks like it plugs into the backend of the brake pad wear sensor, the rubber is wearing and doesn't attach in the wheel well anymore.

Any help would be appreciated!

I believe that retaining grommet is integral to the brake pad sensor cable and not sold separately. There is no way to thread a new grommet on. Check online pictures for the cable assembly.

Hi Simp,
Use a little silicone bathroom calk between the haves and also in contact with the bracket should hold things together nicely. The little squeeze tubes are easier to control when using small quantities.

To get by until repaired to your liking, I would wrap the wire in electrical tape until thick enough to be a press in fit to the retainer. Thick rubber or silicone tape if you have it or better yet, Sugru.

black zip-tie on cable above rubber to retain rubber from sliding up
Pull up the below rubber to squeeze the above rubber, another black zip tie on cable below the bottom rubber, pressing both
insert rubber in prong

Andy, Andreas has the right idea. They make rubber grommets with a slit so you can install without removing the line, then position and push in to the bracket. Once you find the right size grommet, you can carefully remove the failed grommet from the line with a utility knife or single edge razor blade.

I was actually looking for the part number for the entire line, I figured the grommet couldn't be ordered by itself. My apologies if I didn't make that clear in my initial post.

Appreciate the idea, but would rather find a cleaner solution.

Yes, thought about doing that, but figured maybe replacing the entire line might be the route to take.

Stan, hope you are well and still enjoying the GP!

Thanks for all the inputs above!

Found that out today from the dealership when we were able to identify the part number - and then he told me the price. Hoping to find a grommet locally, the place mentioned above wants $80 for shipping.......

Pricing is done using an artificial intelligence algorithm. How else could you explain the following:
https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/o...ew-99906703901 (a bolt)
https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/o...55-99907200601 (a bigger bolt)
https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/o...it-00004320461 (a wiring harness)

certainly not based on materials and labor.
