Post Looking for Todd Campbell

I just read Todd's thread on chipping his 95 tiptronic p-car and I tried to contact him at the place noted but have not had any luck(this was noted in Robin's DIY section on his site).Could someone be so kind to give me his e-mail.
Thanks...

Where's his post on chipping a '95 Tip? I'm curious because I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
Pleae share anything you find on this topic.
Thanks.

Rick
You will find the post on Robin's p-car.com site under the DIY section. I have e-mailed Todd with some questions about this and will be glad to share the information with you.

I'm exteremely interested because I've got a Tip and have also come to the conclusion that if/when I chip my car I will buy it from Steve W.
I'm really curious to see where the gains are - personally I'd rather see some improvement in the lower RPM range if possible.

Steve - any info on the actual results of chipping this car? Inquiring minds...

Please keep me posted.

Thanks much.

Hi Rick:

The 993 street-gas chips make about 15-18 HP difference with the biggest increases in the 5500-5800 RPM area.

Torque increases begin at 3000 and continue to the stock rev limiter.

As the maps are tailored rather differently, you feel significant throttle response changes from 3000 RPM on up.

Altogether, I think the car is simply more fun to drive,.........

Steve,
Was this chip done especially for the Tiptronic? I remember awhile back you felt that there would be benefit to having access to a Tip car for awhile to get things even better than perfect.
Just curious....

Thumbs up

Steve's chip for the TIP does make this a much more fun car to drive. I have had mine now 2 years with no problems at all. I get a little pinging when it's hot, but with added octane boost (I use Amsoils) it's fine. Gas in Northern CA is different than anywhere else. Besides being $.20 or more per gallon, premium is not any higher than 91 octane, and I doubt that at times.

I'm after Steve to do a chip for the Tip transmission. Anyone with me???

I'd love to see one specifically for the Tip - how can we help Steve Make that happen? If I were closer, I'd let him have my car for awhile but I'm 2000+ miles away.

I'm definitely in for a chip if one were made for the Tips.

Steve said in a recent email that there were just not enough of us tip owners to justify the expense of producing one. My car would be happy to volunteer

Oh my,........When I get a moment, I'll see what I can do.

I might need a 993 Tip ECU here for a day to read the stock chip to see what can be done.

Rick: The engine chips do not vary by transmission type. Todd wound up with a rather aggressive version that was made for the available fuel back then (92 octane).

The newest California ones are suitable for 91 octane fuel.

Steve,

I'd be more than happy to send you my chip for a few days if that would help; any specific instructions on removing it (ie. disconnect battery, etc...)?
Also, any issue in having it out of the car & possibly having the battery disconnected for several days?
Please confirm that you want me to do this and when you want me to send it out. I could FedEx it so that you could have it by Tuesday, May 28 or Monday June 2. Also, let me know when you think you could have it back to me.
Thanks much.

Hi Rick:

Thank you kind Sir, for your generous & thoughtful offer.

The illustrious Todd Campbell has volunteered to bring his Tip ECU up here to PDX on his next visit, so I can read the chip for my database. This is a big first step toward making a 993 Tip chip,....
