about 90 miles - true story: on the drive back home we stopped @ my wife's aunt and uncle's place - the odometer said 35,911 mi... stopped for dinner at 35,959 miles and arrived at home with 35, 993 miles (okay, it was 35, 996, but it makes a better story with 3 less miles)
I took it to be a good omen

I bought the 993 from a good friend and drove 30 miles home to get my wife and head out for a 3 day weekend in wine country. It's hard to beat top down zooming down the country roads in Napa or Sonoma. You can also fit more cases of wine into the car than you might guess.
I drove the Turtle 490 miles from San Diego home to San Francisco on a hot (90's) day in a track car with no AC. It was still fun.

Wow-how we travel to get the cars we love. Mine a too short drive from Cincinnati to MD about 350 mi I’d guess. What an experience. I was so hyped with the drive that by the time I got on the Penn Turn Pike I wasn’t sure if I was going East or West. I thought I was headed in the right direction but I wasn’t sure, as there were no signs. This was my 1st drive on the pike and my 1st drive alone in a 993! To make matters worse, the crazy speedometer kept inching up to and past the century mark (must need fixing) nothing I had owned felt that stable at 100 mph – yea baby what a blast. Not one bit of trouble – only 18K on the clock. The highlight, an older couple in a Honda gave me the thumbs up!!

10 miles - I like to think it was actually 9.93 miles - across London in heavy traffic. I was VERY nervous, especially when surrounded by motocycle dispatch riders and white van drivers at lights on the North Circular Road (arguably the UK's most "challenging" route), but I survived. From all the standing starts during that 10 miles, I had only one stall and one high-revs, burning rubber getaway. Neither were intentional!
It's been love ever since...

I had my 993 shipped by last year from Florida to Illinois in mid January, no long story.
When I bought my 1989 944 Turbo a few summers ago, I bought and drove the car home on the same day I first saw it. I must have driven 200 miles at 90+ mph all the way from Chicago,IL to Lake Manitowac,WI to get there before the dealers who were also on the way to buy the car - I passed 2 trailer/car transporters from 2 used car dealers from Illinois who were on the way to buy the same car.
